Role OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and energetic Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to work with children who are birth-5 years old through Early Intervention and Preschool Special Education programs. The teacher will plan, implement special education strategies/instruction and maintain daily lesson plans and activities which reflect the goals of the common core, student IEPs and NYS learning standards.
What You Will Do
The teacher will review and sign attestation of each child’s IEP, ensure implementation of services regarding location, duration and frequency as listed on IEP, develop and implement designated curriculum that fosters both special needs and typical children’s acquisition mastery of age-appropriate level skills as per NYS and UPK regulations, and provide a developmentally appropriate, child focused, and safe active learning environment.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2) and Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2) or the equivalent, and prior teaching experience is preferred.
