Role Overview

The Special Education Teacher will work directly with students to identify and fulfill needed educational services and supports as part of a student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). The role involves participating in IEP meetings, providing support to general education teachers, and ensuring compliance with state and federal special education requirements.

What You Will Do

The main responsibilities of the Special Education Teacher include working with students with disabilities in small group settings or 1:1 setting, interacting directly with assigned students to fulfill IEP requirements, and providing instructional interventions and academic support to individual students or small groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or satisfactory applicable state background check
  • Current special education certificate valid in relevant jurisdiction
  • CPR and First Aid
