Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a full-time, on-site Special Education Teacher to serve a school located in Hot Springs, SD. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing teaching and case management services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities and outcomes of this role include developing, implementing, and assessing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, delivering instruction tailored to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of students, and monitoring student progress and adapting instructional strategies to improve outcomes.

Requirements

• Teaching Certification
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree or higher in Special Education
• State License as a SPED teacher
• 1+ years of experience in a school setting preferred
• Experience working with children
• Organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in use of technology
• Fingerprint background clearance
• Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications
