Role Overview

The Special Events Coordinator develops, implements, and coordinates special events for the Parks and Recreation Department. This includes creating event themes, designing layouts, and managing budgets. The coordinator will also be responsible for pre-event activities, such as preparing documentation and coordinating with vendors, as well as post-event activities, like assessing the event's outcome and making recommendations for improvements.

What You Will Do

The Special Events Coordinator will perform a variety of tasks, including developing and implementing special events, coordinating pre-event and post-event activities, and ensuring the safety and smooth operation of events. The coordinator will also be responsible for troubleshooting questions and problems during events, responding to emergencies, and making recommendations for resolutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Event Planning, Arts Administration, Management, Entertainment Management, Hospitality Management, Recreation or a related field
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in special events planning and coordination, event production, hospitality, marketing, or a related field
  • Valid Georgia driver's license
