Job Description
The State of Connecticut, Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) is seeking a part-time Special Investigator (Medical Examiner) to work in their facility located at 11 Shuttle Rd. Farmington, CT 06032. The ideal candidate will have experience/familiarity with investigatory methods and techniques, and medical terminology, and be physically fit to perform some lifting. They will work in a state-wide medical examiner system charged with the investigation of sudden and unexpected deaths.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of investigatory experience in a medicolegal investigative agency, police or military setting involving sudden and/or unexplained deaths.
  • College training in forensic science may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
  • A Master's degree in a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
  • Successful completion of a Connecticut Careers Trainee program approved by the Department of Administrative Services may be substituted for the General Experience.
