Role Overview

This position involves highly sensitive professional work performing legal research, providing advice to judges, drafting orders and other documents at the request of judges, and training and mentoring research attorneys.

What You Will Do

Reviewing and assessing cases and motions, drafting orders and documents, designing and conducting training classes, coordinating efforts, completing special projects, representing the Court of Appeals, and assisting in technology development.

Considerable knowledge of one or more phases of law, excellent writing and communication skills, and ability to analyze and prepare written memoranda.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited law school
  • Two or more years of experience as a licensed attorney
  • Attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Kansas
  • Considerable knowledge of one or more phases of law
  • Knowledge of general law, state laws, established precedent, and sources of legal reference
  • Knowledge of court procedures and rules of evidence
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
