Role Overview

The Specialty Pharmacy Tech performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. The role involves filling and delivering medications, ensuring adequate supplies, and operating pharmacy equipment.

What You Will Do

Fills and delivers medications, ensures adequate supplies, triages and escalates questions or issues, uses systems for processing patient information, and ensures quality assurance.

Why It Might Be a Fit

A pharmacy technician license is required, and a CPhT license is preferred. The role requires 1 year of pharmacy experience, and the ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and a Virginia Pharmacy Tech License.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy technician license in the state of practice
  • Virginia Pharmacy Tech License
  • CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Preferred)
  • 1 Year Pharmacy Experience (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
