Role OverviewAssist a teacher in a special education setting, helping with instructional materials, classroom displays, and student care. The role involves working with students with physical disabilities and adapting to each student's unique needs. What You Will Do
Prepare instructional materials, maintain a neat classroom, assist with student care, and help with administrative tasks. You will also work with individual students or small groups to develop motor skills and conduct instructional exercises.

Requirements
- Accredited Senior High School Diploma or equivalent
- Paraprofessional certificate from State Board of Certification
- Successful completion of a specific training program for teacher assistants or six months of knowledge and skills acquired through work experience
- Demonstrated general knowledge of child growth/development and behavior characteristics
- Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse ethnic groups
- Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to follow verbal and written instructions
- Demonstrated effective communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with children with disabilities
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
