Role OverviewCollaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) through the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process. Implement instructional programs for assigned students and work with classroom teachers to modify curricula as needed. Employ various instructional techniques to meet student needs and conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement.
What You Will Do
Manage student behavior, administer discipline, and consult with teachers regarding student behavior and education needs. Keep informed of and comply with federal, state, and school regulations and policies for special education teachers.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a directly related field
- Valid Texas teacher certificate with required Special Education endorsements
- One year of student teaching or approved internship
- Demonstrated willingness to improve competency through professional growth
- Demonstrated knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee process and Individual Education Plan goal setting process
- Demonstrated general knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Demonstrated knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area
- Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
