The SPED Self Contained Classroom Teacher Assistant will assist the teacher with instructional materials, classroom displays, and administrative tasks. The role requires working with students with physical disabilities and managing behavior in a classroom setting.

Requirements

  • Accredited Senior High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Paraprofessional certificate from State Board of Certification
  • Successful completion of a specific training program for teacher assistants or six months of knowledge and skills acquired through work experience
  • Demonstrated general knowledge of child growth/development and behavior characteristics
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse ethnic groups
