Role Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) works directly with students and families with SLP services outlined on the students’ Individual Education Plan (IEP), as well as assesses the needs for school-wide supports and consults with the educational teams to increase student access to classroom-based tools. The SLP will conduct Speech & Language evaluations as requested. The SLP will work closely with the educational and treatment team, including family and caregivers or outside providers, to ensure the student/client needs are addressed and will ensure all students/clients receive the highest quality of care.

What You Will Do

Conduct SLP evaluations for extended evaluation placements, 3-year re-evaluations, and otherwise as needed, Provide direct and consultative speech and language services to a small caseload of K-8 students, Develop IEP goals in collaboration with educational team, Participate in IEP and quarterly meetings and prepare all necessary documentation, Run classroom-based or small pull-out groups for service delivery or school-wide interventions as needed or requested.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) preferred
  • Clinical Fellows pursuing CCC are encouraged to apply - supervision will be provided.
  • Massachusetts DESE Certification in “Speech Language and Hearing Disorders”
  • Licensed by MA Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle safely preferred
