Role Overview

Evaluates and identifies patients with voice, swallow, auditory, speech, and/or language delays/disorders and provides appropriate habilitation/rehabilitation. Works in the Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery department, Monday-Friday, 35 hours a week. Evaluates patients, administers tests, scores and interprets results, documents findings, and provides recommendations. Counsels patients and their families regarding communication skills and options for improvement. Develops goals and objectives for each patient and plans therapeutic intervention strategies.

What You Will Do

Develops goals and objectives for each patient and plans therapeutic intervention strategies. Provides habilitation/rehabilitation services, counsels patients regarding their progress, and documents patient's progress following each session. Refers patients to additional medical or educational services as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Masters in Speech-Language Pathology is required
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • NYS-license as Speech Language Pathologist
