Job Description
This internship is a paid, in-person legal internship supporting Hope Center Ministries. The intern will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit governance, contracts, risk management, real estate, and regulatory compliance across a multi-state nonprofit organization.

Requirements

  • Assist with review and organization of HCM contracts, leases, agreements, and governance records across multiple locations
  • Support research and documentation related to nonprofit governance, regulatory compliance, and program operations
  • Summarize risk, indemnity, insurance, and liability provisions in agreements involving HCM and external partners
  • Assist with development and standardization of legal templates, policies, and records management processes
  • Research and summarize state-specific SNAP / food assistance regulatory requirements
  • Assist with legal research related to employment law compliance, including Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Department of Labor guidance, and worker classification
  • Assist with legal research and document review related to insurance claims, liability matters, and risk management
  • Assist with legal research and document review related to lawsuits, disputes, and legal matters under attorney supervision
  • Assist with legal research related to building codes, zoning, land use, and property compliance
