Job Description
Works under general supervision to provide technical skills for performance of basic to complex laboratory procedures. Performs frozen sections, oversees, and participates in the daily preparation of paraffin sections for staining of patient tissue, and performs all level of special stain, histochemical and immunohistochemical stains in work area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and completion of histology training program.
  • (HT) HISTOLOGIC TECHNICIAN Certification as HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP); or if certification is earned within six months of hire date.
  • Associate's Degree in a science and/or completion of histology training program or equivalent training as defined by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
