Role OverviewThe Sr. Accounting Manager leads a team of five spanning general and technical accounting, accounts payable, and strategic sourcing and procurement. The role oversees the financial close, accounting operations, technical accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), while driving continuous process improvement.
What You Will Do
Monitor month-end and quarter-end close timelines, review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, amortization schedules, capitalization analyses, and financial statement support. Lead and develop a team spanning general and technical accounting, accounts payable, and strategic sourcing and procurement.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have eight or more years of progressive accounting experience across financial close, general ledger, accounting operations, and technical accounting. A minimum of three years of public accounting experience is required, with experience with a national or regional public accounting firm preferred.
Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Accounting or related field
- Active CPA license preferred
- Eight or more years of progressive accounting experience
- A minimum of three years of public accounting experience
- Experience researching U.S. GAAP and preparing technical accounting memoranda
- Experience improving accounting processes, controls, reconciliations, and ERP-enabled workflows
- Experience leading a multifunctional team
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Proficiency with authoritative accounting research tools
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems
- Working knowledge of Power BI
