Job Summary
The Senior Manager of Inventory Control & Production Planning is tasked with overseeing and optimizing inventory management processes (including working capital), as well as production planning activities to meet the business unit's customer demand. This individual will also be the leader for CAM lead time optimization initiative to support customer needs. They will be tasked to lead the roll out of a more formalized demand planning process to support improved responsiveness to our customer base. Lastly, they will champion CAM’s rollout of our Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning platform (SIOP).
The Senior Manager role requires strategic thinking and coordination across various departments to ensure alignment with the business units’ inventory and sales goals.
The position entails a comprehensive grasp of the business unit, collaborating with the executive team and other functional areas to offer guidance to managers, team members, and other stakeholders.
The role involves overseeing a team of multiple direct reports and necessitates occasional travel.
Lastly, this role requires a strong ability to drive for results and deliver key business goals by having perseverance to overcome challenges. This individual must have a realistic optimism to enable a “can-do” mentality across their team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Oversee the overall strategic production control planning and inventory This includes scheduling, material flow, and monitoring to achieve goals related to delivery dates, inventory levels, cost, and optimization.
Team Leadership: Lead and develop high performing Provide training and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Capacity Planning: Responsible to access network capacity pertaining to production output and warehouse capabilities.
Efficiency Optimization: Employ standards, metrics, and procedures to maximize inventory efficiently. This includes inventory planning, scheduling, forecasting, and control.
Resource Allocation: Develop methods to allocate and control This involves ensuring that Inventory is allocated effectively and efficiently with the proper use of team resources.
Waste Reduction: Establish monitoring tools and processes to identify and plan for problems related to waste, inefficiencies, and inventory within production operations.
Process Improvements: Continuously recommend improvements to production technology and
Technology Utilization: Oversee the implementation and utilization of inventory management systems and technologies including rolling out AI enhancements.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies and best practices.
Other duties as assigned
Cost Optimization: Will be responsible to drive hard and soft cost savings across their full team to support CAM’s margin improvement plan.

Education and Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related
Proven experience of 5 years in inventory management, with a focus on strategic planning and process improvement.
Proven track record of managing groups in multiple areas of 3 years or
Preferred:
Master's degree is a
Proven experience of 6 years in inventory management, with a focus on strategic planning and process improvement.
APICS (CPIM, CIRM, CSCP, or CLTD) is a plus but not required.

Plant visits will be required at an agreed upon cadence
Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5
Periodic travel may be required for team meetings, training, or company events, with advance notice provided. Travel for the role is estimated to be 10-20% annually. The company will reimburse travel expenses in accordance with its travel and expense policy.
