Job Description
Under the direction of the Director of Indirect Consumer Lending, the Senior Underwriting Manager ensures the efficient operation and compliance of the indirect lending consumer loan officers, overseeing consumer loan officers, reviewing and approving underwriting decisions, and developing and implementing underwriting policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Lead and supervise a team of consumer loan officers, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Review and approve underwriting decisions for complex cases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement underwriting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and risk management.
  • Monitor team performance against key metrics and provide timely feedback.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and operations across teams.
  • Analyze market trends and risk factors to adjust underwriting strategies and optimize portfolio performance.
  • Present reports and updates to senior management, detailing underwriting outcomes and departmental progress.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the underwriting team.
