Session A: July 6, 2026- July 10, 2026
Session B: July 13, 2026 - July 17, 2026
Session C: July 20, 2026 - July 24, 2026
OUTDOOR LAB CAMP TEACHERS
Preferred Qualifications:
● Virginia Teaching Certification
● First Aid and CPR certification required; Outdoor Wilderness First Aid training preferred
● Demonstrated experience teaching children in an outdoor setting
● Ability to plan and execute activities
● Flexible and a team player
● Strong oral and written communication skills
● Ability to work in any weather conditions
Experience:
● Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
● Experience with personalized learning strategies
● Experience teaching elementary or secondary science
Responsibilities Include:
● Lead camp activities for students at week-long (M-F) sessions of summer camp, in July, at the
Phoebe Hall Knipling Outdoor Lab’s Summer Camp located in Broad Run (Fauquier County), VA
● Train and supervise camp assistants
● Ensure safety and well-being of all participants
● Responsible for organizing and administering prescription medications in coordination with APS School
Health Bureau regulations
● Live on the premises during each camp session and sleep in the tent area, as needed
● Attend planning meetings prior to camp sessions; participate in pre-camp and post-camp duties
● Organize and lead a mandatory training for all staff (TRAINING DATE TBD)
