Job Description
ServiceNow is seeking a Staff Applied Research Scientist to lead groundbreaking research and engineering within their LLM team. This role involves developing and improving core Large Language Models (LLMs) for Enterprise Language Generation, encompassing data curation, training, and evaluation. The position supports diverse Business Units and powers customer solutions across multiple platforms.

Requirements

  • Expert in prompt engineering and developing LLM based features
  • Experience with methods of training and fine tuning large language models (distilation, supervised fine-tuning and policy optimization)
  • Experience in using Al productivity tools (Cursor, Windsurf etc.)
  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes
  • 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Expertise in Python, OOP, and Design Patterns
  • Experience with Pretraining of an LLM is preferred
  • Experience with Instruction fine tuning and other fine-tuning techniques
  • Experience with Reinforcement learning is preferred
  • Experience with various transformer architectures
  • Ability to read latest papers
  • Good publication record in top tier conferences
  • Ability to work with product owners and stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
