Role Overview

The Staff Assistant II will provide administrative support to the Behavioral Health providers at Harvard University Health Services (HUHS). The role involves greeting and assisting patients, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining files. The Staff Assistant II will also serve as a liaison to the billing department and assist with special projects.

What You Will Do

The Staff Assistant II will perform a variety of patient-centered services, including preparing medical records, making appointments, checking in patients, and collecting co-payments. They will also assist clinicians with hospitalization of patients, process insurance prior authorizations, and problem-solve IT issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of administrative support or related professional experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience in patient services, transcription, and/or Blue Cross Blue Shield (BC/BS) authorization processes preferred
