Job Description
The NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) seeks an experienced attorney to serve as Staff Counsel in the Legal Counsel Unit. The Staff Counsel will provide legal advice and guidance to DCWP staff and management on new and existing laws and regulations, assist with implementing new laws, and serve as DCWP’s subject matter expert on issues related to specific industries regulated by DCWP.

Requirements

  • Admission to the New York State Bar
  • One year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar
  • Six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Interne (30086)
  • One year of experience at Assignment Level I or two years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment (for AL II)
  • Two years of experience in Assignment Levels I and/or II or three years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment (for AL III)
