Job Description
Redfin is seeking a Staff Engineer - Data Platform to lead the modernization of the company's data ecosystem, building and operating large-scale data systems and infrastructure. The role requires a strong technical background, with experience in designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems, infrastructure platforms, or data platforms. The ideal candidate will have expertise in AWS, Python, Java, Spark, Streaming, Kubernetes, and Terraform, and will be able to mentor engineers, guide architectural decisions, and set technical direction for high-impact, cross-org platform initiatives.

Requirements

  • Architect, build, and operate large-scale data systems and infrastructure
  • Lead modernization of critical legacy systems
  • Build platform capabilities and tools that enable other teams to move faster with confidence and governance
  • Partner with Data Engineering, Machine Learning, and Cloud Infrastructure teams
  • Drive technical direction across the data ecosystem
  • Mentor engineers, guide architectural decisions, and set technical direction for high-impact, cross-org platform initiatives
