Role OverviewThe Staff Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients and their families in the Medicine Unit 7W. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate, and document care.
What You Will Do
Formulates nursing diagnoses, teaches, counsels, and provides care. Delegates tasks to assistive nursing personnel.

Requires a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, current New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse, and Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university (highly preferred)
- One year acute care experience (highly preferred)
- Current New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Ability to apply knowledge - assessment
- Ability to build interpersonal relationships - communication
- Ability to provide people-centered care
- Ability to collaborate with other professionals
- Ability to assess and reassess patients admitted to Medical / Surgical Unit
- Ability to perform assigned point of care testing (ex. Glucometer)
- Computer application skills - ALLSCRIPTS and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and communication skills
