Staff Physician (Part-Time)

The Staff Physician will perform medical evaluations of potential Correction Officer candidates, examining candidates using medical equipment or tests to evaluate medical qualifications and make determinations on whether candidates are medically fit to perform the duties of the position.

What You Will Do

Perform medical examinations of candidates, review testing and medical documentation, and make determinations on candidates' fitness for duty.

Requirements

• Valid license to practice medicine in the State of New York
• Board Certification in a specialty area required by the agency
• One year of satisfactory experience practicing in the specialty area (for Assignment Level II)
• Master's degree in Public Health or equivalent (for Assignment Level III)
• At least two years of satisfactory experience after receipt of the Master's degree (for Assignment Level III)
• Completion of an approved residency program in an accredited hospital (for Assignment Level IV)
• Valid board certification or board eligibility in Infectious Disease, Pulmonary Medicine, or a related subspecialty (for Assignment Level IV)
• Completion of an approved fellowship program in an accredited hospital (for Assignment Level IV)
