Role OverviewThe Staff Psychiatrist is responsible for the psychiatric health and wellness of CARES clients, including assessment, prescribing processes, and supporting clinical services.
What You Will Do
Spends 80-85% of time seeing clients, interviewing, performing examinations, ordering tests, and prescribing medications. Also reviews treatment plans, medical history, and medical reviews.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must be a board-certified, licensed psychiatrist in New York State with experience in clinical responsibility and oversight. Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency required.
Requirements
- Board-certified, licensed to treat both children and adults in New York State
- Knowledge of typical and neurodiverse populations
- Understanding of Emergency Services in NY State
- Demonstrated experience in clinical responsibility and oversight for other professional staff members
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer proficient
- Minimum of 10 hour commitment per week
- Free of any investigations or sanctions by local, state and/or federal regulatory agencies
