Role OverviewThe Standardized Patient is trained to simulate a patient in a medical situation, working with students and healthcare professionals at Temple University's Lewis Katz School of Medicine.
What You Will Do
You will learn a case, interview and examine students, and provide patient-centered feedback, while simulating a patient's history and physical signs.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This role requires strong verbal and written communication skills, memorization and concentration skills, and comfort with physical exams. Acting or teaching experience is a plus.
Requirements
- Ability to simulate a medical patient within designated parameters of a case assignment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrable memorization and concentration skills
- Willingness to undergo repeated physical examinations
- Ability to use computer for basic note taking
- Ability to work comfortably with health care professionals and students
- Ability to work a part-time on-call schedule, as needed
- Ability to take direction and standardized responses
