Role Overview

The Steam Boiler Technician will operate and maintain low-pressure boilers that supply steam to heat buildings and generate power for industrial purposes. The role involves performing water chemical analysis, operating automated or computerized systems, and maintaining equipment to achieve program and business objectives.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities include operating boilers, monitoring readings, checking temperature and pressure, and making adjustments. The technician will also perform regular maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating compressors, tightening pipes, and replacing/repairing piping and valves.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 5 years minimum experience as a boiler operator with low-pressure steam boilers operating pressure limited to under 15 psi
  • Boiler regular preventative maintenance experience as described in ASME CSD-1
  • Ability to operate automated or computerized systems that control the boilers and other equipment
