Role OverviewThe Central Supply Technician is responsible for providing clean, properly packaged, sterile instruments and supplies to meet individual customer needs. The role involves decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, labeling, and stocking supplies, instruments, and equipment for various UVA Health Northern VA Culpeper departments.
What You Will Do
Receives, cleans, decontaminates, packages, labels, and sterilizes instruments, supplies, and equipment. Stocks and replenishes supplies and equipment, notifies the department head when new or additional supplies or equipment is needed.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department preferred
- Sterile Processing Tech certification required (CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT)
- Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing
- Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays
- Ability to learn and understand medical terminology
