Role OverviewThe Streets and Parks Laborer performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work in the operation and maintenance of the City streets, parks, signage, sidewalks, curb & gutter, street lighting, parking structures, storm water system, and the operation of medium and heavy construction and other specialized equipment.
What You Will Do
Cut grass and trims weeds on city property and parks using lawn mower and weed trimmer, dig flower beds and plants flowers using gardening tools, clean buildings, wash windows, and empty trash cans, paint interior and exterior walls and trim, operate a backhoe to dig trenches, drive truck and load fallen tree limbs and roadside trash onto truck, repair streets and sidewalks with asphalt, cold patching materials, and concrete, removal of snow and ice during winter months, maintain and repair municipal buildings' plumbing and electrical systems, repair or replace building brick, stone, and concrete, maintain and repair wood parts of buildings, hand wash vehicles, and perform related tasks as required.
