Job Description
The Structural Designer I is an entry-level structural engineering professional who supports the analysis, design, and documentation of structural systems for a wide range of building types. Reporting to the Managing Director or Studio Director and working under the direction of Senior Engineers and Engineers, this role contributes to the successful delivery of projects across commercial, healthcare, hospitality, institutional, mixed-use, multifamily, residential, restaurant, retail, and interior development sectors.

Requirements

  • Assist in the analysis and design of structural systems for building projects
  • Perform basic structural calculations, load determinations, and preliminary sizing under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer
  • Prepare structural drawings, details, and design documentation using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Apply applicable building codes, standards, and local jurisdictional requirements
  • Coordinate structural design elements with Architectural, Civil, MEP, and Development Services teams
  • Participate in internal project meetings and assist with documenting decisions and action items
  • Maintain organized project files, design revisions, and QA/QC documentation
  • Check shop drawings and coordinate with internal and external project team members under supervision
  • Review contractor submittals and shop drawings under the direction of senior engineers
  • Support responses to Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Participate in site visits to observe construction progress, document field conditions, and report findings to project leadership
