Role OverviewThe Schaefer internship and co-op program provides opportunities for students to apply classroom methodology to hands-on modeling and design. The internship position is full-time (40 hours/week) for approximately 3 months during the Summer semester of 2027. The student’s Schaefer advisor, mentor and the assigned project team coordinate to ensure the learning experience is relevant and challenging. Successful internships and co-op rotations may lead to full-time employment, as evidenced by our present staff of dedicated and talented structural engineers and modelers, many of whom were students here themselves.
What You Will Do
Develop an understanding of load path and simple statics within basic structures. Create structural drawings from engineering designs to markups. Work closely with an assigned mentor who provides hands on support and guidance while working through real projects. Learn engineering software such as Revit and RAM Structural Systems for application on a variety of challenging projects.
Why It Might Be a Fit
