Position Title:Student Employee, Theatre-1Job Description:POSITION TITLE: Fine Arts Theatre Student Employee
DEPARTMENT: Fine Arts
DIVISION: Academic Affairs
REPORTS TO: Technical Supervisor, Theatre
CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
MINIMIUM PAY RATE: $15.00 per hour
(Position is FWS Eligible)ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Assisting in execution of designs for JJC Theatre Productions2. Assisting in the management of JJC musical events (concerts, recitals, etc.)3. Assisting in front of house operations for all productions and concerts (ticketing, ushering, general support)4. Supervising volunteers in various theatre shops (scenic, costumes, props, lighting)5. Office duties (filing, computer, photocopying, etc.)6. Assist Fine Arts Secretary as needed.7. Perform related duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS1. 2.5 GPA or higher and in good standing with JJC2. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at JJC3. Practical experience in the use of hand and power tools4. Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills5. Accuracy in tabulations of money6. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint7. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence. 8. HOURS: Flexibility in hours and the ability to work evenings and weekendsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS1. Previous theatrical work2. Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment3. Students planning to continue work in theatre encouraged to apply4. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
