Role OverviewProvides assistance and support to a Teacher in planning and implementing classroom instruction to meet the educational needs of an assigned student. The Student Support Specialist works in a full-time, in-person position, Monday through Friday, 7a-3p.
What You Will Do
Assists the Teacher in planning curriculum, assessing student abilities, developing and implementing lesson plans, and maintaining a classroom environment. The Student Support Specialist also observes and tracks student behavior, gathers data, and creates illustrations to support modifications to the educational program.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and experience working in an educational or classroom-based setting. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities is strongly preferred.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of Three (3) years of direct support experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is strongly preferred
