Role OverviewThe Substance Use Counselor works collaboratively with the Westchester County Department of Social Services Child Welfare Unit and their Caseworkers to determine the level of care to individuals undergoing child protective investigations, families receiving preventative services and foster care, and PINS Diversion. The Substance Use Counselor will conduct a substance use assessment, including clinical evaluations and referral to appropriate treatment and services when necessary via home visits.
What You Will Do
Provides families identified with mild to moderate substance use disorders with In-Home patient-centered counseling sessions for families identified to be at risk. Develops individualized treatment plans and discharge plans for clients receiving In-Home services.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- OASAS CASAC-T or CASAC Certification
- NYS Driver's License
- At least one (1) year experience working with clients with substance use disorders and/or mental illness for candidates with CASAC certification and at least One-Two (1-2) years' experience for candidates with CASAC-T certification
