Job Description
Under the general supervision of the Program Director, the Substance Use Specialist II assists participating individuals with serious and persistent mental illness in developing and maintaining viable living, working and social situations in the community by obtaining needed services. Participates in crisis intervention services 24/7 and has lead responsibility for integrating dual-recovery treatment with other team members.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Rehabilitation Counseling, Pastoral Counseling, Creative Arts Therapy, or Therapeutic Recreation
  • A minimum of one year of experience in providing services to individuals with mental disabilities
  • Training or experience in integrated mental health and substance abuse assessment and treatment
  • Motivational interviewing techniques and stage-wise treatment
  • Valid NYS driver’s license (preferred)
  • Professional license in appropriate field issued by NYS Education Department (strongly preferred)
  • CASAC or CASAC-T (highly desirable)
