Substation Electrical Engineer (Experienced)

Perform engineering and design duties for substation projects, requiring application of engineering principles and knowledge of substation design. Work on projects from conceptual design through construction, and collaborate with manager, clients, and others as needed.

What You Will Do

Detail engineering and design of substation projects, create/modify design documents and drawings, prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets, and take on project engineer and/or project manager roles as required.

Requirements

• 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering (emphasis in Power is preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years applicable post-graduation substation design experience
• Current EIT License in the State of Texas or ability to obtain the license within 12 months of hire (preferred)
• Current PE License in the State of Texas or ability to obtain the license within 12 months of hire (preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements
• Ability to travel
• Take personal responsibility and ownership for the quality and accuracy of work product
• Proficiency using AutoCAD or MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite
• Self-starter
• Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects
• Work independently or in a team environment
• Must be able to routinely lift up to 30lbs
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
