We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Substation Planner III to join our team at K&A Power Group in Greenville, SC. What You Will Do

Plan and schedule all activities associated with substation construction and maintenance projects. Develop and define project construction plans and work execution strategies. Plan and sequence complex construction and maintenance activities, including equipment outage sequencing, temporary facility installations, clearance and switching requirements.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Minimum 10 years of experience performing transmission line and/or substation maintenance, construction, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, or operations work. Experience planning and coordinating substation maintenance and/or construction activities. Hands-on experience working in and around electrical substations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience performing transmission line and/or substation maintenance, construction, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, or operations work
  • Experience planning and coordinating substation maintenance and/or construction activities
  • Hands-on experience working in and around electrical substations
  • Strong knowledge of substation equipment, including: Power transformers, Voltage regulators, Circuit breakers, Disconnect switches, Instrument transformers, Bus systems, Related substation apparatus
  • Knowledge of above-grade and below-grade substation facilities and structures
  • Understanding of equipment installation, maintenance, operation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of outage planning, switching and tagging processes, and clearance management
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings and equipment database systems
  • Ability to read and interpret: Technical drawings, Construction documents, Procedures, Clearance documentation
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership and team coordination skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
