Role Overview

The Substitute Teacher provides a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment for students when the regular classroom teacher is absent. The substitute teacher follows the lesson plans and classroom procedures provided by the teacher, maintains appropriate classroom management, and supports the Catholic mission and values of the school.

What You Will Do

Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the regular classroom teacher, provide instruction and supervision appropriate to the students' age and grade level, maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment, and take attendance and complete other classroom documentation as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • College degree or teaching experience preferred

  • Ability to follow directions and adapt to different classroom environments
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education
  • Practicing Catholic preferred, depending on school and diocesan requirements
