Role Overview

The Success Coach serves as a Competent Provider with lived experience, delivering professional support services to participants and their families enrolled in the Benefits Bridge Program. The Success Coach assists individuals and families in navigating benefit cliffs, provides employment-related support, and connects participants to community resources and services based on their individualized service plans.

What You Will Do

The Success Coach will complete comprehensive assessments, bridge scores, and develop service plans with participants. They will provide direct services to participants, maintain weekly contact, identifies needed support services, monitors goal achievement for earning incentives, and identifies educational/job training needs.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The Success Coach position requires working with participants in their natural environment. The position is community-based and may require travel within the community. The person in this position must have solid knowledge of agency services and must know how to secure services if not available in the agency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required, associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Present and/or past experience receiving public assistance (e.g., childcare assistance, SNAP benefits, OWF benefits, etc.).
  • Must obtain EMPath Certificate (Economic Mobility Pathways) within 120 days of hire.
  • Must possess the skills necessary to help clients achieve and maintain their highest level of functioning by striving for successful community living.
  • Must have the ability to offer a unique perspective of receiving public assistance because of his/her own experiences and relate his/her journey towards self-sufficiency.
  • Must be proficient and accurate in computer use, including Microsoft Word.
  • Must maintain current continuing education and requirements for renewal for their EMPath Certificate (Economic Mobility Pathways).
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when needed.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and show proof of personal auto insurance policy to be deemed insurable with Harbor’s vehicle insurance policy.
