Role Overview

Join our team as a Supervising Life Skills Trainer and make a difference every day. This community-based position provides recreation and leisure opportunities, as well as training in independent and daily living skills to adults with disabilities. As a Supervising Life Skills Trainer, you will oversee daily program activities, ensure person-centered programming, and support individuals in making their own decisions.

What You Will Do

Your responsibilities will include overseeing daily program activities, ensuring the provision of skills training, following through on individual behavior management plans, and assisting in hiring, training, and supervising staff. You will also communicate with parents, group home staff/supervisors, and legal guardians, and maintain accurate documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of supervisory experience
  • 1 year of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities
  • Valid NYS Driver's License
