Job Description
The Maryland State Department of Education is seeking a Supervisor of Special Education Research and Data to serve as the Section Chief for Research and Data in the Accountability and Data Branch. The position coordinates and directs research/data-informing activities, including data collection, analyses, and reporting for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B and Part C, and provides qualitative and quantitative data analyses to be used for programmatic improvement, professional development, and measuring the results of the Division's Strategic Plan.

Requirements

  • Develops, coordinates, and oversees statewide data collection, analysis, and reporting activities for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part C and Part B
  • Directs and coordinates statewide research, data collection, analysis, and reporting activities related to IDEA Part B and Part C programs serving children and youth with disabilities from birth through age 21
  • Oversees the collection, management, analysis, and reporting of statewide data
  • Leads the development, coordination, and submission of required federal reports and improvement plans
  • Provides technical assistance and support to Division leadership, local school systems, and public agencies in the analysis, interpretation, and use of data to improve outcomes for children and youth with disabilities
