Job Description
Role Overview

As a Supervisor, Shipping, you will provide oversight and manage the activities of workers engaged in preparing packages and products for shipping in a variety of shipping methods. The supervisor coordinates with other sites on products shipped and destination. You will support and strive toward safety in all facets of the manufacturing facility, resolve safety problems that arise, and complete required paperwork. You will also effectively document incidents or near-miss investigations, assist with or perform nonconformance investigations and root cause analysis.

What You Will Do

The Supervisor, Shipping will effectively monitor and adjust productivity and efficiency of workers to plant performance standards, ensure equipment is tracked, maintained, and available as required, and provide leadership and direction for the success of your material handlers and assemblers. You will also ensure a well-trained and versatile workforce by promoting cross-training, provide counseling, coaching, and disciplinary actions when needed in support of Hunter Engineering policies and practices, and interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assigns duties.

You will also have the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and write routine reports and correspondence.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or associate’s degree in engineering or a related technical field
  • 5 years’ demonstrated manufacturing supervisory experience in related industry
  • Dynamic and engaging leadership skills
  • Possesses high level of mechanical and ironwork aptitude
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Has familiarity with ISO 9000 standards
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement, highly desirable
