Job Description
Role Overview

Performs responsible supervisory work assuring scheduled service is maintained at all times and managing the daily operation of COTA's fixed route system. Performs Division, Radio/ADA and Street Supervision assignments. Incumbents may be required to rotate through all assignments and/or be reassigned at any time and therefore, are expected to obtain training and certifications for any assignment, as required.

What You Will Do

Supervises and manages COTA's daily operation of the fixed route transit system ensuring compliance with city, local, state, and federal laws governing transit services. Initiates communication with the city's police, safety, and fire departments as well as local construction companies that might affect service. Maintains courteous and informative communications with the public and passengers pertaining to COTA service, schedules, and necessary changes due to emergencies and special events/circumstances;

Why It Might Be a Fit

Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Airbrake & Passenger endorsements; and Must have the ability to obtain TSI certification, if applicable.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree
  • four (4) years of supervisory, coaching, mentoring, and/or transportation leadership experience
  • Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Airbrake & Passenger endorsements
  • TSI certification
