Role Overview

The Supplier Quality Engineer, Launch will be embedded within Slate's program teams to drive supplier readiness from APQP through Job 1. This position is responsible for ensuring suppliers achieve PPAP approval, meet launch milestones, and deliver conforming parts on time in support of Slate's production launch.

What You Will Do

Manage the full APQP process across an assigned supplier portfolio, drive PPAP submissions and approvals, monitor supplier readiness against program milestones, and lead containment and corrective action for launch-phase quality issues.

8+ years of Supplier Quality experience with direct involvement in vehicle or product launches, including APQP management, PPAP approval authority, GP-12/controlled shipping, and supplier readiness assessments.

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree or equiv. or previous working level experience
  • 8+ years of Supplier Quality experience with direct involvement in vehicle or product launches
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Experience with varied components (Stampings, extrusions, seats, plastics, seals, lighting, etc)
  • Ability to identify process issues and drive improvements to improve operational efficiency and product quality
  • Strong working knowledge of launch readiness metrics, PPAP status tracking, and supplier milestone management tools
  • Ability to interpret GD&T and engineering drawings; experience working with suppliers on dimensional reporting, measurement system analysis (MSA), and Cpk/Ppk requirements
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • High level of integrity
