Role OverviewThe Supplier Quality Engineer will manage incoming materials to ensure they conform to Shawmut's required specifications. This role involves conducting routine supplier quality system audits, evaluating and touring prospective supplier facilities, and providing ongoing support to production operations.

Responsibilities include conducting routine supplier quality system audits, evaluating and touring prospective supplier facilities, supporting new program launches, resolving supplier-related quality issues, and facilitating the approval and documentation of boundary samples.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (four-year degree) or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment; automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
- At least one (1) year of experience in a supplier and/or customer-facing quality role.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience supporting APQP activities for new product launches within the automotive industry.
- Working knowledge of AIAG standards or comparable quality system requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface with customers, suppliers, and all levels of the organization.
- Advanced computer proficiency, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 quality management systems.
- Familiarity with VDA 6.3 auditing standards preferred, but not required.
- Internal Process Auditor experience preferred, but not required.
