Role OverviewUnder direct supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, performs a variety of duties in the OR and related areas to assist the surgical team at DMC Harper University/Hutzel Women's Hospital, a specialty referral hospital with Centers of Excellence in neurosciences, bariatric surgery, vascular services, and more.
What You Will Do
Scrubs on all types of operating procedures, handles surgical instruments, sutures & sponges, and anticipates the needs of the surgeon while maintaining strict aseptic technique. Prepares for scheduled operative procedures, ensures necessary equipment and supplies are available, maintains a clean and safe OR environment, and assists in transporting and positioning patients.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited surgical technician program, and one to two years of experience as a surgical technician preferred. Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists is highly desirable. - Equivalent DMC surgical technician training program or equivalent combination of training and/or experience or successful completion of an accredited surgical technician program
