Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • BLS required
  • Certification as a surgical technologist (NBSTSA, NCCT, or other approved program) in certain states
  • 2 years of operating room experience preferred
  • Manual dexterity and ability to maintain professional decorum in stressful situations
  • Ability to be conscientious, organized, and orderly
  • Ability to respond quickly to the needs of the surgeon and patient
