Role OverviewThe Surgical Tech works under the direction of the physician, Unit Manager, and Chief Nursing Officer, handling instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure, while maintaining the sterile field.
What You Will Do
Assesses procedures, communicates with team members and surgeons, prepares instrumentation and equipment, and provides care according to established AST Standards and KHI Policy and Procedures.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The Surgical Tech must demonstrate initiative, be productive and efficient, and have good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds and care for patients with infectious diseases.
Requirements
- Graduate of a school of Surgical Technology or similar training
- BLS through the American Heart Association
- Certified Surgical Technologist
