Role OverviewThe Surgical Technologist maintains sterile conditions, anticipates the needs of the surgical team, and ensures that all instruments and supplies are available and properly handled. The first level in the Surgical Technologist career ladder.
What You Will Do
Provide safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using nursing interventions in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. Provide patient care/function in a primary scrub position. Assist with technical responsibilities in assigned operative procedures.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must have thorough knowledge of asepsis, instrumentation, suture and surgical procedures. Must be able to use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient care needs and prescribed medical therapies.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- Thorough knowledge of asepsis, instrumentation, suture and surgical procedures
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days
