Role OverviewThe Surgical Technologist is an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical care to patients. They work under the supervision of a surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
What You Will Do
Check supplies and equipment, open sterile supplies, set up sterile table, ensure compliance with Universal Protocol, anticipate additional supplies, gown and glove surgeon, hold retractors, sponge or suction operative site, apply electrocautery, cut suture material, connect drains, prepare and apply sterile dressing, pass instruments, operate retinal laser, maintain sterile technique, assist in prepping room, keep accurate records, properly label and care for specimens, perform counts, clean and prepare instruments, assist with terminal cleaning, report and document occurrences.

Requirements
- Degree from an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- Surgical Technologist certification
- BLS certification
- Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital environment
